Can I change my mind the same day I sign the lease to rent a house?

This is in Washington Sate. There was a scary incident with the neighbors at the very time we were in the House signing the lease. We told the property manager we didn’t want to go through with this and she still took the deposit check and the lease. Is there like a 24 hr time frame or any time frame at all that we have a right to undo the lease?

Last June we signed a 2 year lease. Last week our landlord informed us that the house was going on the market. We assumed that we could get our of our lease early so that we may find another place to live with a reasonable time frame. We were informed that this wasn’t an option we would have to sit out our lease unless the house sells and then we would be given a 30 day notice. Is this legal? I am very unclear about what rights we would have as tenants in Texas. Where could I look this information up?

A house leased for 1 lac ( without rent) for 2 yrs. Lease ended but both the parties r silent and house occupied by tenant and the lease amount is with the owner. Now can both the parties can simultaneously exchange the things or the Tenant has any speical rights? Tennant demand cash but owner want to pay by a/c payee cheq. Advice please

We are reviewing a lease application from someone with a credit score in the upper 500s.
This is a young person who has had a good job a little over a year, and is making a nice income. The rent on our place is nearly triple what they are paying for their current apartment, but the income should easily afford our house.
Would you take this person on as a tenant?

Here in Houston, TX, the owner made me sign an lease addendum to be able to advertise, show, & sell this house while we occupy it. Original intent was to buy, NOT to specifically lease the house. I want out, to go rent an apartment, to save $500/mo. as I became recently unemployed. Owner will not void lease – he wants the $1500/mo.

What is a land lease (with existing house)?

There is a house for sale I was looking at then I noticed the house is $119k but it says “land lease- $990/month”. So I don’t understand how the land can cost seperate from the home that’s on it…? Why would this happen?

how to get out of a rent to own house lease?

My husband and I jumped into buying a house in pa. At the time it seemed perfect. Perfect location and greatest investment. We at the time were waiting for our credit to imporve so we took a rent to own option. The house had a sign that said buy from owner when we bought it. After signing a 3 year lease with the option to buy we found out the house is ridiculously over priced and then while looking over the howard hanna realty website realied our house is still listed as an active house to buy….is this a breach of contract and should we be concerned about this??? We really would like to get out of this lease for many reasons plus our ill parents now need us closer to home. Any help woul be appreciated.

I have a receipt showing I paid the deposit, but lease was never signed because the house is still being worked on. House was not going to be ready until middle of september. Landlord will not give back $500 deposit and hung up on me and will not answer phone calls

I recently signed a 12-month lease in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is located in Orleans Parish. Upon moving in, I learned that the house is for sale. If the house sells, is my lease is void? Is there a way to get out of the lease if the house sells?

Our renters have left the property with no notice owing us a month and a half in rent monies. Left the house trashed, damaged doors and windows etc. We are in PA so we’re not sure where to begin.

Can I sue my landlord for breaking our lease since the house is in foreclosure?

We live in California and just moved into this house in February. We signed a lease for a year through a Property Managing Company. Our lease states the landlord is suppose to make all mortgage payments. After we moved in the landlord stop making his loan payments and now the house is being foreclosed. What rights do we have? How long do we have until a sherriff locks us out? Can we sue our landlord or the Property Managing Company for breaking our lease? Please help!!!!!

The house is in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Does the house being foreclosed on break the lease? Does the foreclosure make the house sell “as-is”? If so, are we obligated to have the carpets professionally cleaned and repaint the bedrooms as stipulated in the lease in order to get back the security deposit from our landlord?

tax exemption in case of company lease house?

Hi Tax Guru’s,
I am having some dobut for Tax liability in case I am availing the House on Company Lease Agreement.
I am getting HRA of Rs. 10068/- , basic is Rs. 16780/- and I had taken house on Company Lease of Rs. 8500/-.
My company is deducting the amount Rs. 8500/- from my salary and sending it to my landlord. And giving me rest of the difference amount. But my company is saying this amount of Rs. 8500/- is fully taxable.
Please clarify me how much amount is taxable and is there any way I can claim this amount while filing the IT return.
