If house lease ends, do you have to give notice before hand?

By

If a lease has a clause stating the tenant must give a three-month notice if breaking lease, when the actual lease period is coming to an end, is that three-month notice still required?

Usually during the term of the lease, you must abide by the early termination clauses.

If the lease “ends”, the terms are still valid, except that your residency is on a month to month basis. This should also be spelled out in the lease document.

How would we know? What does your lease say? Read it. It is a lot better then taking someones word on here. If the lease period is ending, is that the same as breaking the lease? Think for yourself.

it depends on how the lease was written, but most leases simply revert to a month to month tenancy with a one month notice required. If you plan to move on or after the end of the lease, just tell your landlord when you plan to move out and ask them what the procedure will be. that will prompt them to tell you if there is a problem with your notice, but read the lease yourself so you know your obligations, in case the landlord is mistaken or tries to tell you something different
