How soon should I start looking for a house to lease?

I currently live in Dallas, Texas and am thinking about moving to Austin in August. I have been perusing the internet lately looking at houses for lease. Am I looking too early? Am I just wasting my time looking for places 3 months in advance? Or am I too late? How early should I be looking and when is a good time to speak to someone about certain places, is there a too early date? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Many people are telling me that regardless of that $6,000, now’s the time to buy. My plan is to systematically pay off that card while saving at the same time to have an emergency reserve should push come to shove and I’m in a financial bind. I want to go into the home buying process with only my student loan debt to worry about. Outside of paying off the card in its entirety before purchasing a home, what other options do I have? With the market the way it is and my good credit score (730-ish, debt-to-income ratio around 10%), I’m sure there are options available to help me obtain a home faster.
I should make it known that:
1) I live with my folks who aren’t charging me rent.
2) I have an open to buy of $25,000 in credit.
3) I don’t consider myself in financial trouble. I have a 401K and a T-Rowe money market account I’m making continuous contributions to.

I am about to apply to assume a very small mortgage loan. I have great credit, no debt, and a very good/stable job.
I was about to make an appointment with a Wells Fargo rep, simply because that is the bank I always use and have been with since I was 16. However, I have no clue as to how reliable their loan department is, and I have no personal relationships with any of the consultants, so I have no idea who would be a good loan officer.
Like I said, its a small loan, so details don’t matter too much, my main concern is reliability, fiduciary, and specifically, confidentiality; the seller is related to me.
Any personal experiences would be great. I just have a feeling going with a large company like Wells Fargo, although reliable, wouldn’t give me the personal service a Loan Officer who is indepentant might. Thank you!

I contributed around $3000 the past year by helping my brother get a job, repairs to his trailer, bought him a car, paid past fees to get his water and power connect, and paid in advance, other forms of charity / gifts. Can I deduct any of this on my 2007 taxes if so under what category? Orcan this be claimed on my taxes? Much obliged for the help.

I went into a residential lease agreement for 2 years. I vacated the house after a year, giving 2 months notice to the landlord as per agreement. Its been more than 4 months now and he is yet to pay back my lease amount, but demanding for the house keys. Am I obliged to give the house keys before he had settled the amount?
Am staying in India, so kindly I need legal advice according to Indian Law.
I was staying in Bangalore and got settled in Chennai, now.

I know that in America you can lease purchase your house whereby you have a morgage to the owner and he in turn may have one to the bank. Can you do that in the UK?

How can I up my credit score 10 points – FAST?

Im trying to get a mortgage, and FHA loan and my credit score is on 570. I need a 580 score to qualify. I have opened to credit cards and have been paying them on time, they have helped my score a lot.Should I get a 3rd card? What else can I do, I need those 10 points fast. PLEASE HELP!!

Not withstanding several television and radio programmes on shoddy works and deception by tradesmen in London, I cannot find a register or websites on this topic. Has anyone come across such a website or a register of these fraudsters? Any one with recent experiences to share with Yahoo users? Please restrict comments to quality of house repair works and deception with sources of particular useeful experiences. What would be most appropriate is a knowledge of a register, may be from case law.

One of the potential applicant for leasing my house in Houston is a real estate agent.
Is it a good idea to lease it to a real estate agent? He will be more picky about the property and will complain more because he knows the system and will try to exploit it.

If a lease has a clause stating the tenant must give a three-month notice if breaking lease, when the actual lease period is coming to an end, is that three-month notice still required?

Citimortgage only applies bi-weekly payments to the mortgage 12x/yr. Benefit is in the extra payment. I want true bi-weekly to reduce interest faster / payoff loan quicker. Anybody know a servicer that offers it ? I’m ready to refi over this !
I already pay extra towards principle. The difference is significant if the servicer accepts bi-weekly payments in addition to extra principle – the mortgage is paid off years earlier for no extra cash.

With the Fed’s decision to cut interest rates, I understand that banks will follow suit and lower interest rates. How fast will it take for these changes to go into place? At what point should people begin to investigate refinancing their mortgages and other loans where it will actually reflect the new rates?
